THINKING OF BUYING THE SAFARICOM BIGBOX? READ THIS FIRST HAND USERS REVIEW! **ALL FACTS LAID BARE** MUST READ!!!

So finally after several months of waiting and of course sitting in traffic its finally here, the bigbox from Safaricom has finally landed most probably from china. The hullabaloo is still here but then before you go buying one of this boxes you need to ask yourself some serious questions, which included but not limited to is the big box going to deliver good old TV content for the family? Is the cost worthy it? There are a lot more questions but lets handle the most important first.

Can the big box deliver some old fashion nice TV for the old family? Okay besides what other FTA STB’S are offering at a fraction of the cost? The plain answer is no, because its the same channels you get at the other free to air TV boxes plus a Wi-Fi router. This question/s can easily be answered by asking yourself when your TV decoder is not working who can sort you faster or to rephrase it who will help you at all. I bet Safaricom is the last option, the Safaricom customer care is legendary for never being available and after hours of listening to their adverts you still cant get through to their call center.

And now to the cost, the Safaricom bigbox is just a TV box with a modem attached to it.so lets split the costs shall we? A normal FTA TV box averages around ksh 3200. A modem costs around ksh 2000. If this are added up the cost will be around kshs 5200 This is a half what Safaricom will sell its  bigbox but then you may ask, but the bigbox has WiFi and an rj45 port! The simple answer is so does your laptop, with a free software download you can turn your pc into a hotspot that can serve up to 100 devices.

So to cup all this in a nut shell the bigbox is a piece of junk that you throw under a truck and happily listen to it being crushed, you're better off buying the normal FTA boxes or if you're one of those people who bank tellers see and they start preparing their fingers for heavy bank note counting then go for premium pay TV.
Another Big question is, why would someone with zuku unlimited buy this rip off..
ZUKU offers over 50 channels and unlimited internet with no end of user policy and it is 31mbps for 4k only.
Oh, by the way, the so called big box is gonna cost you a whooping Kshs 10,000!
