Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru, has defended her closeness to President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying she will not apologize for being close to the President because that is part of her work.

She was responding to allegations flying around that she is being treated like a ‘Super Minister’ by President Uhuru Kenyatta due to her personal friendship with him.

The Opposition led by former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, had raised concerns that Uhuru was using state resources to protect Waiguru from prosecution for attempting to steal from NYS, something he never did for other CSs like Charity Ngilu, who was also in the same shoes as Waiguru, and wondered why the Devolution CS was so special and dear to the President.

Speaking in a media interview yesterday, Waiguru admitted to being close to Uhuru, just like every other Cabinet Secretary, saying the nature of her job dictates so.

Waiguru revealed that she is truly ‘guilty’ when it comes to working closely with the President, saying she consults and talks with him daily and all the time.

“Being a Cabinet Secretary, you consult with the President on a daily basis just like my colleagues do. And so, if you say I have the President’s ear, then I am truly ‘guilty’ just like my colleagues, because we all do,” said Waiguru.

It's just recently when popular blogger, Cyprian Nyakundi, was sued by Safaricom for publishing damaging articles about the poor services they offer and how they steal from Kenyans.

Apparently, Nyakundi had launched a scathing attack on the giant company through a series of articles in his blog. When it emerged that Nyakundi had been sued, his followers started useless hash-tags and no one came to help him with finances so that he can get a good lawyer.

This is what has made Caroline Mutoko go mad and she cannot stomach such nonsense from Kenyans. The former radio queen claims that too much yapping on social media without any action doesn’t help.

Here’s Mutoko’s message to all idle Kenyans on twitter;

"This nonsense with Nyakundi is hard to behold. Not the legal case – no that’s fine – let it run its course to its natural conclusion whichever that may be. I believe we must test the instruments of justice and our constitution to see if they can stand the test.

What I really can’t stomach is the pretentious “support’ for Nyakundi on social media.

As Nyakundi was headed to court I expected to see some real support – not lip or finger service but real support. Warm bodies around him. I expected to see all those who “stand” by him set up an Airtel Money line or an Orange Money line and raise his legal fees.
I expected to see a gang of “cheated” supporters escort Nyakundi to court.

I expected to see a massive drive on social media leading to lines outside Airtel and Orange stores as people ditched their Safaricom lines and opted for anything else. But no. All Nyakundi got was a trending hashtag.

As I watched NyakundivsSafaricom trend on twitter last night (08/07/2017) and then fade into nothing I got sad for Nyakundi and slowly like a boiling pot, I got really angry.

My fellow Kenyans – We are shallow and insincere and worse of all hypocritical.

All this yapping on Twitter. Done on Safaricom lines & yet no-one has offered to foot the bill for Nyakundi. Including Boni Mutetezi with this “supportive” tweet. Really? I was hoping everyone supporting him on Twitter would show up at the law courts, but alas – it was Jimnah Mbaru & Peter Kenneth all over again. Lots of noise on social media, no show where it matters.

In a libel case – the burden of proof is on the accused. One must prove & show evidence backing the statement/s made. I hurt for Nyakundi. He was probably used and now he is on his own. No-one even bothers to give him alittle free advice. No-one has told him that courts don’t take it kindly when one is trying to use public opinion to sway a court decision. Poor Nyakundi can’t even call witnesses to prove his case. None of you will show up anyway.

Worse still – he has already violated a gag order. He was not supposed to discuss Safaricom in any form or manner on any of his platforms. Only a lawyer or a “friend/supporter” with a legal mind would have made him understand that he is no longer at war with Safaricom – the judge is in-charge now and he is breaking the law. Mikhail – @Kosgeybett tweeted earlier today “Nyakundi busy violating a court order, the **** is yet to pull down the Safaricom defamation tweets.”. If only Nyakundi had a lawyer or a real friend. If only.

But the worst thing about all this is not our pretentious selfish nature. No. What’s really sad is that we will end up creating another bitter kid who does not trust anyone and has a lot of influence. From here onwards he will be selfish and only care about himself like a certain blogger who will remain unnamed. Worse still, this bitter kid will probably be used to spin shit in 2017.

I look at Boniface Mwangi and I see Nyakundi. I’m very fond of Boniface Mwangi, and he knows it, but sometimes all I see is a gun for hire – and I’m fine with it. We bailed out on Boniface when he needed us. We encouraged Boniface, re-tweeted and shared his stuff – but when he really needed our help, we stayed in our offices and gave him retweets and likes. Yeah that’s right – that’s who we are.
Please note that I have been to a police station to get Boniface and he remembers it even when I had forgotten.

You misled Nyakundi and when he got into trouble you bailed out….

That’s who we are. Martha Karua wanted to fight for rule of law, Peter Kenneth had a track record of delivering as an MP, Jimnah Mbaru had a real plan and zeal for the job – but we elected people who had court cases in human rights violation and land grabbing and expected better. Let the courts handle NyakundivsSafaricom – what the rest of us need to do is introspect and ask ourselves how long and far will we go with this pretentious, hypocritical, shallow state of affairs? How long and who stands to lose and who gains. As I was having this conversation with a friend – he decided to show me that he clearly understood my disgust. He said:

“Let me tell you a story *pulls stool*
A friend, wants to pursue his dream of studying mechanical engineering in Russia. I didn’t know he didn’t have fees to get into the course cause he went last year. So I was taken aback when he told me for a year he was learning Russian to be able to enroll into uni. So he started a campaign on-line to raise money for uni. I donated what I could last week in 5 minutes. The donation page has been viewed over 6K times. Only 10 donations. I see people urging others to donate and they haven’t even done it themselves, I’m like – What hypocrites. Same thing happening to Nyakundi.”

A 32-year-old woman, identified as Grace Benjamin, reportedly vomited a live python and other items during a deliverance session at the Sons Manifestation Ministries, located in Magami area of Jalingo, Taraba state.
After her deliverance yesterday, February 1, Grace was said to have told the congregation she has been a member of the marine kingdom for over 15 years.

She disclosed that she had used her power to kill so many fake pastors in the process, adding that her husband suffered a lot of setbacks at her hands.
Grace, who hails from Edo state, therefore urged all those who are still operating in the demonic world or any form of occult practices to stop and accept Christ Jesus before it was too late.

Speaking on the deliverance, the general overseer of the church, Rev Johnson Mustapher Bulflo, said he was only a vessel used by the Lord to deliver the woman.

much has been said of what the masaku sevens event about,,good rugby and a show of talent, but of late it is also known for other things besides showcasing of rugby talent

Hard to believe but that is what Italian media reported this week...lol. An unidentified Italian couple had to be rushed to the hospital this week after their genitals got stuck together while having sex in the sea at Porto San Giorgio in the Marche region of Italy. According to Italian newspaper Il Mattino, the man and woman called for help about 30minutes after they went into the sea. A woman walking along the deserted beach heard their call for help and handed them a towel. Other locals went to rescue the embarrassed couple and called an ambulance. It took about an hour for an ambulance to get there and take the couple to the hospital. A doctor was able to free them by administering an injection to dilate the woman's uterus. Doctors later told the press that the man was 'unable to extricate himself from the woman due to suction'.

It is a question that has been running through the minds of most Kenyans who use mobile money services: What happens to the money held in an account of a loved who has passed on?
Safaricom, finally, have an answer. According to ‘Safaricom Blogger’, the funds held in M-Pesa accounts can be passed on to a customer’s next of kin once claims from the beneficiary are validated.
“We require that the next of kin should visit any Safaricom Shop and provide certain documents for inspection and approval before any funds can be released,” a post on the company’s website says.
The documents to be provided depend on the circumstance of the death. Where an M-Pesa subscriber dies and has written a will, the next of kin will be required to present to Safaricom copies of the death certificate, ID of next of kin and grant of probate.
Where an M-Pesa subscriber dies without a will, the next of kin will be required to present letters of administration.
These conditions are mandatory for accounts with more than Sh30,000.
M-Pesa customers to now receive loans through phones
Safaricom a big hit in Ugandan capital
For M-Pesa accounts holding less than Sh30,000, you will need an affidavit administered by a Commissioner for Oaths and sworn by the claimant, death certificate (not burial permit), a letter from provincial administration of the deceased’s area of residence or letters of administration and the next of kin’s ID and copy to be retained.
“However in cases of dispute, the next of kin will be required to provide letters of administrations or grant of probate,” the post further says.
And if the next of kin does not claim the money, the company remits the funds to the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) as required by law.
“The funds submitted to the UFAA are those that have been dormant for a period of two years either due to inactivity on the M-Pesa Account or where a customer is deceased and the funds have not been claimed by the next of kin,” adds Safaricom.
“Where funds have been submitted to the UFAA the next of kin can still claim them from the UFAA by filing a claim with them. The next of kin will be required to provide certain documentation as will be advised by the UFAA.”
